Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has been using his social media platforms to have his say over his surprise omission from the Gunners’ Premier League squad.
Mikel Arteta has opted not to select the German midfielder and the former Real Madrid ace will now train with no hope of playing, despite being on huge wages at the club.
After taking to Twitter earlier in the day to post his initial update, Ozil later took to Instagram to share the same message with his millions of followers on the platform.
Of course, a number of players past and present are quite prevalent on Instagram, so Ozil’s update was always going to garner support from players around the world.
Two of those who showed solidarity and support for Ozil were former Arsenal star Bacary Sagna, and Kevin Prince-Boateng, who featured with Ozil in the Germany under-21 set-up.
The 32-year-old has been frozen out by Mikel Arteta but that hasn’t stopped some in the world of football from offerin their support, as can be seen the comments posted in response to Ozil’s post today.
