Newcastle United striker Joelinton has come in for high praise from his former Hoffenheim teammate Kevin Kuranyi.
The 37-year-old has been speaking about the Brazilian after watching his first few months at St. James’ Park.

Joelinton is still finding his feet in English football following his £40 million summer switch (BBC Sport).
The South American has only scored one goal so far, but fans have had sympathy for the 23-year-old, who hasn’t been getting much service for the Magpies.
By all accounts, while it hasn’t quite happened for Joelinton on the pitch, the striker has been making a big impression off it – and that comes as little surprise to Kuranyi.

He told The Chronicle: “He is not maybe a player who will score 30 goals but he will run for two or three players because he has the power.
“He’s a guy who has a big heart. He is a guy if you are his friend he will be your friend for life and that’s important when you meet someone like that. I know he’s a team player. I know everyone will like him because he’s a guy who makes jokes, who tries to smile every day and do everything so his team are happy.”
TBR’s view – Kuranyi comments will endear Joelinton to fans
It very much sounds as though Joelinton has a great character, which should serve him well.

There is a lot of pressure on him being the club’s record signing and bearing the weight of the number 9 jersey.
He just needs a few goals to settle him down, and there should be a good chance of him becoming a popular figure at St. James’ Park.
