Kevin Campbell has told Amazon Prime Video Sport that Arsenal need a player like Brighton’s number eight Yves Bissouma amid reports the Gunners are tracking the Seagulls ace – following Tuesday night’s 1-0 Gunners win.
Arsenal made it two from two after the weekend’s win over London rivals Chelsea, with Alexandre Lacazette coming off the bench to score a winner against Graham Potter’s men. Bissouma impressed, but failed to stop Arsenal.
Bissouma, 24, has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool. TalkSPORT suggest that the Mali international has emerged as a target for The Gunners and Jurgen Klopp’s side – two years after his £15million (Mail) move.
Arsenal icon Campbell was asked about the January transfer window and having watched Bissouma shine against the Gunners, he thinks Arsenal need to sign the Brighton midfielder – as he would be ideal for Thomas Partey.
“I think Arsenal could do with a player like him for sure,” Campbell said. “Thomas Partey needs a midfielder alongside him with energy and he would fit the bill, perfectly.”

TBR’s view – Bissouma signing would spell Xhaka exit
Granit Xhaka has impressed in Arsenal’s last two games but if the Gunners choose to bring a player like Bissouma to the club – along with a returning Thomas Partey from injury, then surely Xhaka will be staring at the exit door.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles continues to show why he deserves to play in his natural position of midfield. Mo Elneny has rejuvenated his Emirates career, while Joe Willock is also an option. Bissouma joining, would surely see Xhaka leave.
