Kevin Campbell has expressed his delighted for Joe Willock after he signed a new contract with Arsenal and is predicting a “big future” for him.
The Gunners confirmed on their official website that the midfielder has penned a new long-term deal to remain at the Emirates Stadium.
Willock is a product of the Arsenal academy and he’s now starting to emerge as a first-team regular under manager Unai Emery.
The 20-year-old has started three of the opening four Premier League games so far this campaign for the North London club and impressed during pre-season.
He’s clearly someone that has immense potential and the box-to-box midfielder looks a great fit in the centre of the park.
Ex-Arsenal striker Campbell has spoken highly of the youngster after his new deal was confirmed.
“Great to see Joe Willock has signed a new long term contract with Arsenal. He has a big future starting this season,” Campbell wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Willock does look like one of the next big things to come out of the academy and the early signs are this season that he’s ready for senior action on a regular basis.
The Englishman is a midfielder with a tremendous work-rate and engine, which is perhaps why he could be a long-term replacement for Aaron Ramsey following his exit in the summer to Juventus.
Willock needs to continue being positive whenever he gets the chance in the Premier League, while the Europa League is also a competition where he should be allowed to grow.
