Kevin Campbell has claimed on Twitter that he would “love” to see Santi Cazorla return to Arsenal as the playmaker continues to shine for Villarreal following his recovery from a debilitating ankle problem.
Cazorla, 35, is back to his best after overcoming an ankle injury that saw him undergo numerous operations, skin grafts and even the possibilitu of gangrene. Despite all the odds, he recovered from the problem to return to Villarreal.
Since his return to the Spanish club, he has been in excellent form. Last season, he scored seven and laid on 11 assists and this season he has upped his game to another level – scoring nine times in 20 appearances, and creating another five.
Cazorla spent six years at Arsenal between 2012 and 2018, and clocked up 180 appearances in total before the injury struck. Now, the Spaniard has told Goal: “I want to play one more game for Arsenal before I retire,” and Campbell has reacted.

TBR’s view – Cazorla’s stats would make him an excellent Arsenal signing
Mesut Ozil continues to struggle in the 10 role and Cazorla’s form at such a high level has been near unplayable. 16 goals in just a season and a half, as well as 16 assists, is stunning form and something Arsenal could really do with.
His Villarreal contract expires at the end of the season and 12 months at The Emirates would be an excellent signing by Mikel Arteta. Whether Arteta will look to bring him back to north London remains to be seen.
