Arsenal came back down to earth with a bump last night as the Gunners lost 1-0 to Aston Villa, leaving ex-striker Kevin Campbell questioning the performance.
The Gunners had beaten Liverpool and Manchester City in their last two outings but they never looked like defeating Dean Smith’s team.
Egyptian striker Trezeguet gave the strugglers the lead and then comfortably held on, handing Arsenal another setback.
Campbell played for Arsenal for seven years between 1988 and 1995 and he thought the players looked way off colour.
Later on, following the defeat, Campbell did praise Villa for their part in the game but suggested following a fan comment that Arsenal weren’t good enough.
The Gunners clearly put a lot of effort into the previous two games and in reaching the FA Cup Final there is still plenty to play for.
Mikel Arteta knows Arsenal can do better and he will want to lift the FA Cup before plotting an improvement next season.
The Gunners face Watford in their final Premier League game of the season at the weekend and could help Villa stay up.

Campbell clearly still has Arsenal at heart and will want to see Arteta’s men finish with a flourish.
There is plenty of potential in Arsenal’s team but next season Arteta must make sure they have fewer nights like the one at Villa Park.
All too often this season it has been a case of one step forward and two steps back.
With a few additions in the summer, there is every reason to suggest the Gunners can kick on next season.
