Arsenal icon Kevin Campbell believes Gunners talent Gabriel Martinelli is a shoo-in to start against West Ham tonight.

The 20-year-old has had to bide his time for starts at Arsenal this season, but he’s taken his chance.

Martinelli was in the starting XI for the first two Gunners games of the campaign.

However, amid Arsenal’s poor start to the campaign, Arteta dropped him to the bench.

Martinelli didn’t get a start for the Gunners until December, providing an assist against Manchester United.

Prior to the Old Trafford game, the £6million talent came off the bench against Newcastle and scored a worldie.

Now, Martinelli has started Arsenal’s last three league games.

Speaking on Highbury Squad, Campbell is confident that Arteta will name the Brazilian in the XI once again.

“Martinelli has to start,” he said.

“He has taken his chance… if Martinelli takes his chance, he creates the manager a huge problem.

“He’s putting the work in, he’s playing well, he’s not gonna be dropped. He’s gonna play!”

Martinelli is likely to start on the left flank once again, with Bukayo Saka on the opposite wing.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not in the squad due to disciplinary reasons.

On Tuesday, Arteta also stripped the 32-year-old of the captain’s armband.

Alexandre Lacazette is likely to lead the line for the Gunners once again.
