Kevin Campbell backs Mudryk to be a really good signing for Arsenal
Kevin Campbell has told The Highbury Squad that Mykhaylo Mudryk appears to tick all of the boxes for Arsenal, and suggested that the Ukrainian would be a really good signing for Mikel Arteta’s side as the links with the winger persists.
The Gunners have been mooted as the front-runners for Mudryk for some time. And it seems that there is a very good chance that he may end up at the Emirates in January.
In fact, 90min reports that Arsenal have opened talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over the 21-year-old. And they are willing to break their transfer record to sign Mudryk next month. There have been suggestions that his club could ideally want around £86 million for the youngster.
Kevin Campbell thinks Mudryk could be a really good signing for Arsenal
Signing Mudryk would give Arsenal a big boost as they look to capitalise on their position in the Premier League table. He has been outstanding this season, with 10 goals and eight assists in all competitions.
Of course, there is an element of risk attached given his age, asking price and lack of experience in one of Europe’s biggest leagues.
But Campbell is clearly confident that he would be a brilliant signing if Arsenal can get a deal across the line.
“I think he’s got the type of game that will actually suit us, especially on the break,” he told The Highbury Squad. “He’s got great speed. We know Martinelli’s got great speed. He’s got great speed. Saka can run. Eddie can run. So whichever player you pick, Mudryk seems to be the kind of guy who can pick the ball up at full-back, and he can go all the way.
“Really exciting player, can play one-twos through the pitch. And he can finish as well. He fits all the boxes with his age, with his talent, with his directness. And I think that could be a really good signing.”
Mikel Arteta has got so much out of the young players within the ranks. In fact, it is so easy to forget that none of William Saliba, Bukayo Saka or Gabriel Martinelli are older than 21. They are all huge players within the current ranks.
So if the Gunners sign Mudryk, then Arteta will have few doubts about his ability to contribute this season.
It could be an amazing addition for the years to come. But there is no reason why Mudryk cannot make a big impact in the coming months.
