Kenny Dalglish has posted on Twitter in anticipation of seeing Jordan Henderson hold aloft the Premier League trophy on Wednesday evening, as the Reds complete their title-winning season against Chelsea at Anfield.

The Premier League confirmed that Liverpool would be allowed to hold aloft the Premier League trophy against Chelsea on Wednesday – with close friends and family invited to Anfield to watch the players celebrate.

The Reds have enjoyed a sparkling season and although they have come off the boil since the return to action – they still sit 25 points above Manchester City with a game in hand over Pep Guardiola’s side.

In what is their last match of the season at Anfield, they have been granted permission to celebrate their title by holding a trophy ceremony – and Liverpool legend Dalglish underlined his excitement on Twitter.

Liverpool will face a tough test against Chelsea – who still have plenty to play for. Frank Lampard’s men will be desperate to pick up a win and taint the celebrations in order to strengthen their chances of finishing in third.

Chelsea are to be without midfielders Billy Gilmour and N’Golo Kante, while Liverpool will be without Henderson and Joel Matip. James Milner, though, is expected to return while Adam Lallana could feature.
