Kemar Roofe reacts on Instagram after making Rangers debut; makes admission

Kemar Roofe has admitted on Instagram that he was not happy with his performance as the forward made his Rangers debut at Ibrox on Wednesday night.

Roofe was named in Steven Gerrard’s squad for the first time ahead of the Gers’ clash with St Johnstone following his summer switch from Anderlecht.

And despite not making a competitive appearance this year, Roofe managed to get half an hour under his belt as he was brought on for Ryan Jack just after the hour-mark.

It proved to be a good evening for Rangers as they ran out 3-0 winners. However, all of the goals were scored before Roofe’s introduction.

And the 27-year-old has since made an admission on social media following the win.

Roofe insisted that he was extremely proud to make his debut for the Gers. But he did concede that he was unhappy with his own performance in the victory – which has sent Gerrard’s men top of the table.

Here is what Roofe posted on Instagram…

In fairness to Roofe, he was always unlikely to be sharp enough to produce a flawless cameo. And Rangers fans will surely reserve judgement until he has had a lot more game-time.

Interestingly, amongst the responses that came in was a message from former Celtic striker Marc-Antoine Fortune.

Fortune – who was also Roofe’s teammate at West Brom – told the Gers man to put any disappointment behind him quickly…
