'He's one the club might turn to': Downie claims Newcastle could swoop for 'extraordinary' PL player
Newcastle United continue to be linked with Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
According to The Guardian, the Gunners forward “remains very much” on the Magpies radar.
Nketiah’s Arsenal contract expires at the end of the season.

Therefore, this is the last chance the Gunners have of getting some money for the 22-year-old.
Now, Newcastle have already got one new striker on board this month.
Chris Wood joined from Burnley, the Magpies’ second January signing after Kieran Trippier.
You could argue a new forward is no longer a top priority for Newcastle.
The Magpies could certainly do with a new centre-back and a new left-back this month.
And that’s assuming they get the Bruno Guimaraes deal over the line.
Nonetheless, it looks as though Newcastle still trying to get another centre-forward in.
And Keith Downie has also claimed that Newcastle “might turn to” the Arsenal striker.
“I don’t doubt that he’s a target, and it’s someone that they’re interested in,” he told GiveMeSport.
“Whether it’s at that stage, I’m not too sure, but they do need to bring in another forward.
“He’s one the club might turn to as the clock ticks down.”
Nketiah is, in Mikel Arteta’s words, an “extraordinary” talent for his age.
However, he has struggled to break into the Arsenal first-team, so it’s not surprising that he’s seemingly open to leaving.
Newcastle would be getting themselves a superb, young and Premier League-proven striker in Nketiah.
