'Keep an eye': Romano says 'brilliant' player is more likely to leave Arsenal than Aubameyang this summer
Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Alexandre Lacazette is more likely to be sold than Pierre Emerick Aubameyang this summer, on the Arsenal Lounge.
Futures in doubt
The futures of both Aubameyang and Lacazette, who Arteta has previously called ‘brilliant’ (Sports Mole), have come under scrutiny in recent weeks, after they sat out of Arsenal’s opener against Brentford.
When the news came out that both Arsenal’s strikers would miss the Premier League’s curtain raiser, immediately concerns were raised among Gunners fans that there could be more to their absences than meets the eye.
But Romano insists that the club’s line that they are both unwell is correct.
The transfer expert also suggested that if Arsenal are to sell one of the pair then Lacazette looks the more likely to depart.
He said: “I’m told they are sick. I would keep an eye on Lacazette more than Aubameyang because there is a chance that Lacazette will be leaving Arsenal in the next days.”
Arsenal looked rather toothless up-front against Brentford in the absence of their two senior strikers.
Arteta handed the responsibility of playing up-front to youngster Folarin Balogun, but it looked slightly too much for him to handle on his first Premier League start.
As a result Arsenal were downed 2-0 by the newly promoted side, in a terrible start to their season.
Arsenal are next in action against Chelsea, when they will be desperate to have one of their senior strikers back fit again, if they haven’t been sold by then…
