This January transfer window has been an absolute snoozefest.
There’s been next to no movement in the Premier League, and heading into the final week of the window, that doesn’t necessarily look like changing.
However, as we all know, there can always be late twists in the window, especially where Chelsea are concerned.
Speaking on the Men in Blazers Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing what could happen during the final week of the window, and he suggested that Chelsea could actually make the biggest signing of January if they do indeed move for a striker.
Romano stated that Armando Broja’s departure from Stamford Bridge could lead to an incoming at Chelsea, naming Jhon Duran and Karim Benzema as two players who could perhaps come in.

Chelsea could make the biggest signing of January
Romano shared what could happen in this final week.
“Who will be the biggest name to move in this window?” Romano was asked.
“It’s not easy to say because in this moment the market is not super clear. Keep an eye on a Chelsea striker, maybe Armando Broja could leave Chelsea and there could be an interesting one, it could be a permanent transfer or a loan, so let’s see what happens. Jhon Duran is a very good striker, he’s someone Chelsea are considering, and then the big name could be Karim Benzema, but that could be difficult,” Romano said.
Need a striker
Chelsea have been much improved in recent weeks and are now in a cup final, but if they do want to push for a place in Europe next season, they need a striker.
Chelsea, quite simply, don’t finish enough of their chances, and that will have to change in the second half of the season if they are to make any real progress.
Whether or not they can make a move for someone like Benzema happen remains to be seen, but this is certainly a situation to keep an eye on.
