Liverpool had the perfect opportunity to scout reported target Karim Adeyemi on Tuesday night.
Adeyemi plays for FC Liefering in the Austrian second-tier but he also represents Red Bull Salzburg in the UEFA Youth League. Just hours before Liverpool’s senior team clashed with RB Salzburg in Austria, the U19s went head to head.
RB Salzburg’s U19s had Adeyemi up top and he had the chance to impress Liverpool in the flesh. According to transfermarkt, he is a target for the Reds, Arsenal and a host of top European clubs.
But how did he get on?
How did Karim Adeyemi do?

Well, Adeyemi was unable to continue his impressive goalscoring run against Liverpool U19s. The 17-year-old has scored three goals in this season’s UEFA Youth League for RB Salzburg but it wasn’t his night.
Adeyemi also has an impressive tally of eight goals in 13 games for Liefering’s senior side. However, he could not find the back of the net on the same day that Erling Braut Haaland – another Liverpool target – failed to score against his potential suitors.
But it wasn’t a terrible performance from Adeyemi, who looked bright in the Salzburg attack. The Germany U17 starlet played a major role in RB Salzburg’s second goal. His fierce shot was saved by Ben Winterbottom and the rebound was put in.
This put RB Salzburg 2-0 up against Liverpool. Adeyemi eventually came off with just over 10 minutes remaining and the Austrians 2-1 up. However, two late goals from Liverpool turned the game on its head and a 3-2 win sent them through to the knockouts.
Adeyemi looked bright but his performance was not magical enough to prompt Liverpool into immediate action on the back of this game.
