Kane has the quality to go on and be even better than Ibrahimovic

Former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic thinks Harry Kane should leave Tottenham to win trophies, according to Bethard, as relayed by the Metro.

The former Manchester United man has been typically outspoken in his views and does know a thing or two about being an elite frontman.

He said of Kane: “He’s doing good things but I always say playing at a big club, it’s different from playing in – with all due respect for Tottenham – a normal club and performing there.

“I think he could make it. He just needs to make the move. People remember you for what you win and in the end he needs to win. If he wants to win [big trophies], yes, I think he needs to change.”

Kane and Ibrahimovic are both great goalscorers but in terms of their attitudes, playing style and approaches, they could not be much more different.

Ibrahimovic was a great individual, but Barcelona and Inter both won the Champions League directly after he left and even Sweden have become a more cohesive side – and World Cup quarter-finalists – since his retirement.

But Kane is the ultimate team player, raising the level of the players he plays with and running himself into the ground and has the quality to go on and be even better than Ibrahimovic if he keeps his current trajectory going.
