Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Kane and Heung-min Son are exciting by the potential impact of new club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele.

Spurs finally completed a deal for the Frenchman at the start of the month after much speculation.

The 22-year-old put pen to paper on a six-year deal and became the club’s record signing (£62.8 million, BBC Sport).

Big things are expected of Ndombele given the outlay, and he wasted little time showing supporters what he’s all about by setting up Lucas Moura’s pre-season goal against Juventus last week.

The star cut out a crossfield pass within minutes of coming on as a substitute and then drove forward to assist the Brazilian with a killer through ball.

Winger Heung-min Son is very excited about what the former Lyon ace can bring. He said (quoted by football.london): “I can’t wait to play together. He’s an unbelievable player we’ve signed. He needs time, the players next to him have to help.”

And star striker Harry Kane added: “He’s been great. He intercepted that ball very well and put that ball through to Lucas. That’s a strength of his – playing that through ball, that forward pass.

“That’s maybe something we’ve missed over the last year or so, that really decisive pass in the final third. He looks like he can do that.”

TBR’s view

The signing of Ndombele could potentially be the thing that elevates both Son and Kane’s games in 2019/2020.

The dynamo’s vision and ability to execute a killer pass is one of his best attributes, meaning the two forwards are likely to reap the benefits of playing just ahead of him.

There is genuine potential for the duo to post their best statistics to date with the creative and energetic ace working in behind them.
