Rangers sealed the arrival of Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara on deadline day, as confirmed by the club’s official website.
The Gers already had a pre-contract agreement in place to take Kamara to Ibrox for free at the end of the season, but have now affirmed that they have got him through the door now.
It is a welcome bonus for Steven Gerrard that Kamara remains eligible for this season’s Scottish cup – having not played for Dundee in the competition so far this season – and the early arrival represents a boost to his side’s title hopes.
Rangers have slipped off the pace slightly but they do have a realistic opportunity to win the league if they can improve their consistency and pick up more points away from home.

And Kamara will hope to link up with Rangers playmaker Ryan Jack in the centre of the park – an area where Rangers have struggled to settle on the right formula, with the erratic performances of Lassana Coulibaly proving a particular headache.
But Kamara should prove to be an upgrade on Coulibaly, offering constant running off the more technical but less mobile Jack.
If they click together – with fellow new-boy Steven Davis likely sitting just ahead of them in the number 10 role, Jack and Kamara could form the bedrock of a title-winning side, especially if they take full advantage of Gerrard’s midfield knowhow in the months to come.
