Arsenal star Bukayo Saka starred for England along with Kalvin Phillips in the Three Lions’ 10-0 win against San Marino last night.
Gareth Southgate’s men were undoubtedly the favourites to win the game yesterday, but not many people expected such a huge scoreline. Harry Kane was the star of the show with his hat-trick, but the Arsenal boys did very well too.
Aaron Ramsdale kept a clean sheet, Emile Smith Rowe scored and assisted on his first start and Saka found the net once as well. However, some people are arguing that the young Gunner scored two times.
Saka’s first strike from inside the box deflected past the goalkeeper into the back of the net. It was declared as an own goal in the end, much to the anger of many Arsenal and England supporters.
Saka shares what Phillips told him after the game
England players were all smiles after the game last night. Almost everyone took to their social media accounts to send messages to their fans. Saka did the same as well and his post featured Leeds star Phillips in it.
Saka and Phillips are pictured together and the Arsenal man has revealed what the latter told him right after the game.
“Kalvin Phillips says I scored 2 tonight. I agree,” he wrote in his Instagram Stories after the game.

England’s future
Gareth Southgate was without many of his senior players yesterday. That gave him the chance to play a number of youngsters, and almost every single one of them showed the world what they’re all about.
Phillips, after his tremendous Euros campaign, is a regular for England now but he’s still only 25. Arsenal’s Ramsdale is 23, Emile Smith Rowe is only 21 and Saka, the pride of the nation, only turned 20 a couple of months ago.
England’s future really is bright and fans have every reason to be excited. If Southgate can get the right balance between the senior players and the youngsters next year in Qatar, the Three Lions could surprise many people at the World Cup.
