Kalvin Phillips was amongst those to send a message to Stuart McKinstry on Instagram following the youngster’s performance in Leeds United’s under-23 win on Monday, with Jack Jenkins comparing the Scot to Kevin De Bruyne.
Mark Jackson’s side continued their impressive winning run. The Whites beat Stoke City 1-0 at Thorp Arch, with Diego Llorente scoring the decisive goal.
A number of first-team players joined Llorente in the side – including Phillips – but it was several of the youngsters who really impressed for Leeds.
And McKinstry was certainly one of those. The 18-year-old came on at the break and looked particularly bright alongside the likes of Helder Costa, Ian Poveda and Sam Greenwood.
And it appears that his performance impressed several of his teammates. The teenager took to social media following the win to express his delight at the result.
