Kalvin Phillips has posted on Instagram after Marcelo Bielsa confirmed during his pre-Barnsley press conference that the Leeds United midfielder had suffered a season-ending knee injury.
Phillips, 24, has been a crucial part of the Leeds side during the Whites’ charge for promotion. He has played 37 of Leeds’ 43 fixtures, missing four of the other six through suspension. Now, he is set to be absent for the last three.
Leeds have almost secured promotion from the Championship, with the Whites six points ahead of Brentford who remain in third place. Just three games are left, and Leeds could return to the top tier with a win on Thursday.
But they will be without Phillips who has been ruled out for upto a month with the problem, and the midfielder has posted on Instagram after it was confirmed he had been sidelined through a knee injury.

Heartbroken I will be missing the last 3 games of the season… ? Anyone that knows me knows it’s killed me that this unfortunate injury has happened and I am beyond gutted I can’t help the lads at such an important time on the pitch but I will make sure I’m there for everyone off the pitch! Still 3 massive games to go and we will need everyone to get to our goal. ??❤️ And for the majority of Leeds fans I can assure you I will be a nervous wreck watching just like the rest of you guys! ? One last push for everyone TOGETHER??
It is expected that Ben White will move into central midfield, and be replaced by Gaetano Berardi in the middle of the defence alongside captain Liam Cooper. The Whites will be hoping they can still secure a win over Barnsley.
Plenty of Leeds teammates – current and old players – responded to Phillips’ Instagram – with the majority posting a serious of emojis in response to Phillips’ Instagram post.
