Kalvin Phillips and Joe Gelhardt have lauded Crysencio Summerville on Instagram after the Leeds United youngster scored a hat-trick for the under-23s on Monday.

Summerville is one of the younger players who is clearly in Jesse Marsch’s plans. The Dutchman has been named on his bench for each of the Premier League games Marsch has overseen.

He is yet to get onto the pitch however. But perhaps he may not need to wait too much longer for that chance following his latest performance for the under-23s.

Leeds took on Crystal Palace at Elland Road. And they went on to produce a stunning display, with the Whites winning 4-0. And three of the goals were scored by Summerville.

His first was a brilliant effort into the top corner from the edge of the box. He then produced a similar attempt to double the lead with his left foot.

And he completed the treble as he capitalised on a mistake from the Palace goalkeeper. He managed to tuck the ball home into an empty net. Obviously, it was an open goal. But it was not from the easiest angle considering Summerville had to take the attempt quickly.

Under-23 boss Andrew Taylor labelled him ‘sensational‘ after the game. And a number of his teammates have now lauded the 20-year-old on social media.

Sam Greenwood called him the GOAT. Meanwhile, Gelhardt went with a similar message. And interestingly, there was also some praise from Phillips…

Summerville could still have role to play for Leeds this season

Marsch may be wary of using Summerville while their situation is precarious. However, the winger is doing all he can to send a message to the American.

He is playing with so much confidence right now. And it will not come as a huge surprise if he does make an impact if he does get an opportunity for the first-team.
