Leeds United youngster Charlie Cresswell signed a new contract at Elland Road on Thursday evening, which promoted a wave of congratulations messages on social media.
The Whites confirmed on their official website that the 18-year-old has signed a new deal that keeps him at the club until the summer of 2023.
Cresswell, 18, is a highly-rated defender that is a mainstay in the Under-23s side and was also handed a first-team debut earlier in the season by manager Marcelo Bielsa against Hull City in the Carabao Cup.
The commanding centre-back looks like he could be one of the next young talents to make the jump up from the academy to the senior group and the Yorkshire club have shown faith in him with the reward of a new two-and-a-half-year contract.
He posted a message on Instagram after penning his deal, which promoted a response from Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips and also Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott:

TBR’s View:
Phillips hat to be the best star to come through the Leeds youth system in recent times, as he’s now a talisman for Bielsa’s team and his recent absence due to a shoulder injury has seen a drop in levels on the pitch.
The 24-year-old is a defensive midfielder that has grown into a main figure in the dressing room and is the perfect role model for Cresswell, who can also look towards Jamie Shackleton as an example to follow within the first-team squad.
Phillips is now a senior England international that has done it the hard way with Leeds and is now reaping the rewards on the elite stage.
