Kai Kennedy posts on Instagram after penning new Rangers deal

Kai Kennedy is quickly emerging as one of the most-exciting talents in the Rangers squad and he has now posted on Instagram after penning a new contract with Steven Gerrard’s side – prompting reaction from Jamie Barjonas.

Kennedy, 18, impressed during the first half of the season on loan at Scottish Championship side Inverness – scoring his first ever professional goal in a 3-0 away win over Queen of the South. Now, he has joined Raith Rovers.

The Scotland Under-19 international made his Rangers debut back in January 2020 and clearly he is highly-rated at Rangers. Now, he has penned a new contract which will keep the winger at Ibrox until the summer of 2023.

Kennedy confirmed the news on Instagram, underlining his delight to have put pen to paper with his boyhood club as he looks to shine at Raith – and convince Steven Gerrard he has what it takes to add to his solitary senior outing.

As quoted by the Daily Record in November 2019, Gerrard labelled Kennedy as outstanding: “I think he’s been outstanding. People look at Kai like he doesn’t belong with men but he’s trained like a man all week.”

Kennedy has now earned the chance to break into the Gers side over the next three years and confirmed as much on his Instagram – prompting reaction from midfielder Jamie Barjonas, who labelled him as a “top player”.
