The agent of Kai Havertz has reportedly been in contact with several big clubs around Europe about his client’s future – one of those team’s being Liverpool.
According to German publication Bild, the Reds are in the hunt for the attacking midfielder, who has reportedly just come third in the 2019 Golden Ball standings behind winner JoaoFelix and runner-up Jadon Sancho.
The report states that ‘concrete talks’ have been held, with Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid having also spoken to the midfielder’s representative.
Havertz has made 16 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen this term and scored three goals.
Last year the Germany international – whom Jurgen Klopp is a ‘major admirer’ (Mirror) – scored 20 in all competitions, which saw his stock soar.
TBR’s view – Havertz Liverpool’s summer blockbuster signing?
Bild tip Havertz to move in January, but realistically he won’t be moving mid-season with Leverkusen.
When Liverpool make new signings, sometimes it can take them time to break into Klopp’s starting XI – Andy Robertson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita being recent examples.
With the European Championships next summer, Havertz may not want to risk leaving Leverkusen where he is developing at a superb and uninterrupted rate.
Perhaps next summer Liverpool can move for the £110 million-rated starlet and make him their blockbuster transfer
