Juventus could reportedly sell Federico Bernardeschi and Everton must be in the mix

One of Everton’s recent transfer strategies has involved plucking fringe players from some of Europe’s elite clubs.

Andre Gomes, Yerry Mina, and Lucas Digne all arrived from Barcelona, where they were deemed surplus to requirements. Moise Kean was a similar story, snapped up from Juventus.

So if they were to repeat this trick in the summer who could be a viable option?

One name that should surely be considered is that of Juventus attacker Federico Bernardeschi.

The 26-year-old has been in an out of the Juventus starting XI this season. Such inconsistent form has even seen it suggested that the Italian international could be sold in the summer.

Calciomercato reported that the versatile attacker will need to impress Maurizio Sarri between now and the end of the season. If not, then the Bianconeri will likely consider selling him to raise funds for new recruits.

Everton would undoubtedly love to have a player of Bernardeschi’s talents and versatility among their ranks.

In fact, Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly a big fan of the player. As reported by Football Italia in December 2015, Ancelotti was keen on bringing the young talent to Bayern Munich. He was even quoted as telling an Italian radio station as much.

“Serie A players that I would take to my next club? In Italy definitely Lorenzo Insigne, Bernardeschi, Daniele Baselli and Paulo Dybala.”

Bernardeschi eventually joined Juventus from Fiorentina in a reported (Goal) £36 million deal in 2017 but has not yet lived up to his full potential.

Now it appears Juventus could decide to move him on. With Everton’s recent signing strategy, Ancelotti’s known admiration for the player and Everton’s successful business with Juventus last summer, this is an idea the club must pursue.
