‘Just watch him play’… Pundit says £27m Arsenal player is actually a really good finisher

Tony Cascarino has suggested that he has been really impressed by the finishing ability of one Arsenal player, and shared how he has found his growth into the side really interesting.

The Gunners are definitely making a number of statements with their performances right now. Mikel Arteta’s men have moved above Manchester City in the Premier League table. And they have now scored 11 goals without reply across their last two games.

The form of Leandro Trossard has definitely been a big plus for Arsenal. The Belgian has now scored four goals in his last five games in the top-flight. And he has arguably looked like the most ruthless option in that number nine spot.

Gabriel Jesus has not managed to silence his doubters when it comes to scoring goals. And Eddie Nketiah has struggled to step up when opportunities have come his way.

Trossard appears to be stamping his authority on the role as something of a false nine for Arsenal. And speaking on talkSPORT, Tony Cascarino suggested that he has the tools to be the answer for Arteta’s ranks when it comes to leading the line.

“The one question to me is are they a better team than last year. And I’d say Arsenal clearly are. There’s a lot more about them. I found it really interesting how the role of Trossard has been evolved into finding his way into the team. And by the way, he’s a good finisher, Trossard. You just watch him play, you can see there’s a finisher in there,” he said.

A bargain

Admittedly, Trossard has not regularly played as a striker. He has been moved around the attack by Arteta. But he is the top scorer between himself, Jesus and Nketiah in the Premier League this term. And both Jesus and Nketiah have spent more time on the pitch than the 29-year-old.

In fact, only Bukayo Saka has found the back of the net more often in the Premier League. So there is no question that Trossard is proving to be an amazing signing at £27 million.

And Arsenal may now have the player they need up front to launch a serious title challenge.
