‘Just started sobbing’ – Celtic fans react to Mikael Lustig’s cryptic Instagram post

Celtic defender Mikael Lustig appeared to say goodbye on Instagram. Lustig is out of contract at the end of the season and he posted a montage video of his best moments in green and white with a clover emoji as the caption.

The veteran defender joined Celtic back in 2012. But seven years later, it looks like he could be leaving. The 32-year-old has racked up over 225 appearances for the Bhoys, operating at either right-back or centre-back.

Lustig has been a loyal servant for Celtic over the years. But his performances have dipped in the last couple of seasons and it is probably the right time to part ways.

Nonetheless, he will be fondly remembered at Celtic Park. The Sweden international has won eight Premier League titles and eight domestic cup titles too.

He would bring an end to a highly-decorated career in Scotland if he does leave this summer. Lustig could return to Sweden with Malmo set to offer him a deal, as per The Scottish Sun.
