Mo Salah was back with a bang for Liverpool this weekend as they hammered Brentford to stay top of the Premier League.

Salah came off the bench earlier than he might have expected when Diogo Jota went down with what looked like a serious injury.

From there, Salah then scored and set another up as he showed just why Liverpool have missed him throughout January while he was at the AFCON.

Once again, Salah showed his full repertoire of skills and that included him showing off his strength and poise in holding defenders off.

And speaking on Sky Sports this morning, former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock admitted that Salah is just phenomenal in how he approaches the game.

Mo Salah praised for his mentality at Liverpool

Piling the praise on Salah, Warnock lauded how strong the Liverpool forward is, both physically and mentally.

“His mentality is just phenomenal. His speed, his strength. I mean his strength for this goal, it’s just incredible when you see the size of him going up against the defenders,” Warnock said.

“The thing now is that now we all know who Mohammed Salah is, when a defender goes up against him, the fear element kicks in because you know how clinical he can be and how dangerous he is in those areas.”

Salah an all-time great

Talk about a way to come back into the fold and make an impression. Mo Salah might have got his chance a touch earlier against Brentford than he expected but boy did he take it.

Salah is just continuing to show week on week why he is one of the greatest to ever do it in this league.

The fact he comes on after being out injured and impacts the game like he did is just ridiculous and he showed once more why he is just so important to Liverpool.

When you look back at Salah only costing Liverpool £34m, it’s going to go down as one of the very best signings the club has ever made.
