‘Just not good enough’… Pundit says £45m Arsenal player isn’t at the right level

Arsenal lost a game this weekend, and to say that reactions to this defeat have been extreme would be an understatement.

Indeed, despite the fact the Gunners are just one point off the top of the league and have been fantastic all season long, fans and pundits alike are being very reactionary.

Speaking on Off The Ball, Keith Treacy has been discussing some of Arsenal’s current problems, and, once again, the conversation has turned back to the fact the Gunners don’t have a proper striker.

According to Treacy, Gabriel Jesus remains a bit of a problem for Arsenal, claiming that his return of just four Premier League goals this season isn’t good enough.

Gabriel Jesus isn’t good enough

Treacy spoke about Jesus and his lack of goals this season.

“The other big thing for me is the number nine, you look at Haaland’s goal return 20 goals already, Nunez has 11 goals, which isn’ bad, but he’s been wasteful. Jesus has four goals for Arsenal as the number nine, it’s just not good enough. You need someone getting around 20, and I know Salah and Foden are around that, but whether you say Jesus or Havertz as Arsenal’s number nine aren’t there either,” Treacy said.

Gabriel Jesus needs to score more

Say what you will about Jesus and his ability on the ball, the fact of the matter is that he’s not scored enough goals this season.

There’s so much to like about Jesus and his performances for Arsenal, but at the end of the day, goals are the name of the game for any striker, and Jesus isn’t delivering on that front at the moment.

Of course, it’s not as easy as just saying ‘Jesus needs to score more goals’, but the point stands that Arsenal need to find a way to get their £45m striker firing on a more consistent basis.
