Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp thoroughly enjoyed last night’s Carabao Cup game with Arsenal, which resulted in the Reds progressing through to the quarter-finals.
The German’s team won on penalties after the pulsating game ended 5-5 after 90 minutes.
Like Liverpool, Arsenal fielded several young players including Joe Willock, Bukayo Saka, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Gabriel Martinelli – and the Brazilian seemingly left a big impression on Klopp.

After speaking about defender Sepp van den Berg’s performance, he said (official website): “That’s really difficult to deal with these guys. Martinelli’s pretty much the same age but he’s a talent of the century, he’s an incredible striker, so it’s really difficult.”
Teenager Martinelli continued his fine form for Arsenal with another two goals, taking his tally to seven in seven appearances – only four of which have been starts.
Martinelli, who is thought to have cost the Gunners just £6 million (talkSPORT), is yet to start in the Premier League but is seriously now knocking on Unai Emery’s door.
TBR’s view – Martinelli a special young talent
Klopp’s high praise further suggests what a fantastic young talent Arsenal have on their hands.

According to a report from Yahoo Esportes, Arsenal actually beat as many as 25 other teams to Martinelli’s signature in the summer.
That shows just how coveted he was, and how special he could turn out to be.
