Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will reportedly resist any temptation to send Curtis Jones out on loan next season as he sees him as a part of the first-team plans.

According to The Times, the German has been sufficiently impressed by Jones in the Liverpool first-team this season and will, therefore, not send him out on loan. According to the Liverpool Echo, Blackburn Rovers are one of several Championship clubs showing an early interest in the player. Klopp, however, believes that Jones can go some way toward filling the gap expected to be left by Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri’s upcoming departures.

Jones has played eight times for Liverpool this season, scoring twice including a wonderful winner against Everton in the FA Cup.

The 19-year-old has made a further 19 appearances with Liverpool’s under-23s, many as captain, scoring 14 goals and providing six assists.

Speaking after Jones scored the winner against Everton in January, Klopp made it clear that he ‘100 percent’ saw a first-team future ahead of him at Anfield, as reported by ESPN.

“Unbelievable player, Scouser, very confident, can’t wait to play in the first team, good, rightly so, he is [on] a very good way.

“I have known him for three-and-a-half years, he has made big steps, will 100% be a Liverpool player, if nothing strange happens. Great.

“That he scores that goal? I am not surprised. He is for these situations. Still a lot to learn, a lot to improve. Sometimes people forget in training, he is 18, unbelievable.”

With Lallana and Shaqiri set to leave, Liverpool are set to be in need of options in the attacking midfield role where Jones is best utilised and it appears the youngster could be the answer to that problem.
