'Absolutely insane': Jurgen Klopp stunned by what two Liverpool players did against Arsenal

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp saw his side secure a 2-0 win over Arsenal last night and he raved about his two full-backs – Trent Alexander Arnold and Andy Robertson – after the game.

The Reds weren’t really at their best at the Emirates. Arsenal were arguably the better side in the first half and they should’ve even taken the lead after the break when Thiago’s poor pass gave Martin Odegaard a glorious chance to open the scoring.

Liverpool survived and Diogo Jota broke the deadlock soon after. Substitute Roberto Firmino doubled that lead just eight minutes later and that was enough to seal the game.

Klopp was a happy man after the game last night and he heaped praise on his backline, especially his two full-backs.

Jurgen Klopp: Trent Alexander-Arnold and Robertson were absolutely insane

The German said in his press conference after the game, as per LiverpoolFC.com: “We have to agree on defence first because otherwise, you are like any team, you win or you lose, you win or you lose.

“Today, we win 2-0 but we had games we won 1-0 and we wouldn’t have won these games if we are not defensively spot on.

“The last line, in general, was incredible today.

“Ali saved us again, but what the two full-backs (Alexander-Arnold and Robertson) did was absolutely insane.”

TBR View:

Robertson picked up a brilliant assist for Roberto Firmino’s goal in the 62nd minute yesterday and he also dealt with Bukayo Saka fairly well throughout the game.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, on the other hand, was really put to the test.

Gabriel Martinelli caused him all sorts of problems last night and even got the better of him on a few occasions.

However, Alexander-Arnold will come away with a clean sheet to his name and that’s all that really matters when you’re a defender.
