Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has spoken highly about Cody Gakpo in wake of his 10th goal of the season.
The Liverpool boss, speaking to the Anfield media team, says the 24-year-old brings “plenty of super things” to the Reds team.
Gakpo has returned to the Liverpool front line in recent months, to great effect. He is looking back to his best and is now in double figures for goals.
Earlier this season, Klopp named the versatile £37million man in a deeper position, but he didn’t perform all that well.

The Reds boss, speaking ahead of the Premier League meeting with Luton Town, also rubbished ideas that Gakpo is going “under the radar” somewhat.
“It was not under the radar,” said Klopp. “If you would ask Cody, he would not say it is the best season of his life but we all know how good a player he is and he is always a threat.
“He can be a threat in the air, he is on the ground really good, has a super finish, a good nose for finishing situations, a good dribbler, can keep the ball for us.
“Plenty of super things we can use and we need and yeah, that’s it pretty much.”

Versatility is an increasingly important trait in football these days, but it can also be a bit of a double-edged sword.
In Gakpo’s case, he can play in midfield without seeming out of place, but at the same time, he didn’t do quite as well.
Then you have to factor in the human element, namely a player’s confidence falling after a few below-par performances.
Credit to Klopp for taking responsibility for Gakpo’s prior loss of form, hailing the Dutchman’s qualities, and vowing to do his best to keep him in the advanced areas.
Darwin Nunez is not the only 24-year-old attacking threat in the Liverpool ranks. Gakpo is too.
