Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek has been “incredible” and “everyone has been impressed” by the goal threat from the Hammers man.

After an initial loan spell at the London Stadium last season, the Hammers decided to sign the 25-year-old permanently in the summer for around £19million.

The former Slavia Prague man has been brilliant for West Ham, one of the key factors behind the club’s superb form so far this season.

On Tuesday, Soucek took his tally to 10 Premier League goals since he joined the Hammers last January with a brace in the 3-2 win over Crystal Palace.

The win over the Eagles took David Moyes’ charges into the top four of the table ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Liverpool at the London Stadium.

And Klopp couldn’t help but wax lyrical about Soucek, telling the Reds media team: “[They have] brought in the right players, I think everybody’s really impressed about the goal threat of Soucek, that’s incredible.

“Antonio is back. It’s just settled now. It obviously took a little bit [of time], that’s normal as well, and last year they really had to fight hard for staying in the league but now they are longer together and it works out.”

Soucek has played a pivotal role for West Ham this season, the East Londoners flying high in the league and into the fifth round of the FA Cup.

He has totally transformed the team and the plaudits are rightly heading his way – Micah Richards recently said he is so good it’s “ridiculous”.
