Reports in Germany are suggesting that Jurgen Klopp is on board with the idea of signing Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich, despite previous reports suggesting otherwise.
SportBild is reporting, as relayed by Bavarian Football Works, that Klopp approves a deal for the player, despite a previous report from ESPN saying the 29-year-old did not fit the Reds’ age profile.
The Spanish international is reportedly open to the deal and Liverpool could have a vital improvement to their midfield area in the pipeline.
However, there is a catch.

As previously suggested, Liverpool do not want to pay Bayern’s hefty asking price for a player scraping 30 with just one year left on his current deal.
That asking price is said to be in the region €40 million (£36m), with Liverpool not willing to pay over €25 million (£22.6m) for the player.
It seems this will be where the deal is made or broken, with Liverpool right to consider Bayern’s exorbitant asking price given all the variables too high.
It is well known that Klopp likes Thiago. Speaking to the press (Daily Mail) earlier this month Klopp admitted his fondness for the ‘really good player’ but he has since made it clear that any transfer dealings would be difficult this summer due to the global health crisis and the subsequent ramifications on the club’s finances. Liverpool have already deemed a move for Timo Werner too expensive at this current time.
