‘Wonderful talent’: Klopp says one Liverpool player had ‘outstanding moments’ against Leicester

Another night of Premier League action, and another three points for Liverpool as they comfortably saw off Leicester City at Anfield this evening.

A double strike from the ever-impressive Diogo Jota got the Reds another welcome three points. They are now just nine behind Manchester City, with a game in hand to help them along the way.

On the night, Klopp managed to see Luis Diaz in full flow for the first time. The Liverpool boss resisted the temptation to bring Mo Salah straight back in and instead, gave Diaz a near full 90 minutes. And boy, was the Reds boss rewarded by his new signing.

Diaz was outstanding at times on both flanks. In particular, he looked thrilling down the left and could – and probably should – have had a first Reds goal. But regardless of that not quite happening, Liverpool boss Klopp was delighted with his man.

“From the first session it was as though he’d been studying us. He is a wonderful talent and has nice speed too,” Klopp told BBC Sport.

“That is exactly how it looked in the training session. He watched us and we showed him a lot of situations. It looks natural. It is really quick I must say. Really, really good performance. He had some outstanding moments.”

Tottenham fans, on the other hand, will be looking on with envy.

TBR’s View: Luis Diaz A Star In The Making

Ever get the feeling a player is just ready-made for a certain club? Well, that’s how it feels with Luis Diaz and Liverpool already.

Explosive, a goal threat, and already buying into the hard-working and high-pressing ethos of the club, Diaz seems to have adapted outstandingly well to Klopp’s asks.

All that was missing was a goal tonight. But that will come. And when it does, the Premier League best be on high alert.
