As Liverpool prepare to face Tottenham this weekend – pending Covid-19 protocols – it’s safe to say that Reds manager, Jurgen Klopp, is more than happy with his current players.
A win over Newcastle last night ensured that Liverpool remain firmly involved at the top of the table. They sit just a single point behind Manchester City at the summit.

Key to Liverpool’s success has been their goal scoring prowess. The Reds have fired in 48 league goals already and remain firmly on target to hit the 100 mark. And while Mo Salah continues to grab the headlines on that front, Klopp told his pre-match press conference today that he is also more than happy with Diogo Jota.
“Diogo is an incredible player. They are not under my radar. He is an exceptional player, Mo is an exceptional, and so is Sadio! He’s just unlucky in the last moments,” Klopp said of his striking trio.
“He’s developed in the last few months into a proper killer instinct. I really like watching it and there’s still a lot more to come from him.”
Jota, 25, has already hit double figures for the season. He has nine in 16 at PL level, and looks to be improving by the week alongside Salah and Mane.
TBR’s View: Diogo Jota Proving One Of Klopp’s Best Signings
Some eyebrows were raised when Liverpool splashed out more than £40m on the then Wolves player. But over time, it’s proven to be an outstanding piece of business.
Jota brings a threat to the Liverpool frontline that Roberto Firmino doesn’t. Like Salah and Mane, his pace frightens defenders, and his striker’s instinct is also helping him to get the goals.
For Liverpool and Klopp, having the options they do up top is crucial. Jota has proven he can mix it with the best. The next step for him will be to try and match the levels of Salah.
