Jurgen Klopp now calls up ‘absolutely incredible’ 17-year-old Liverpool youngster to Dubai training camp
Liverpool have started stepping up their preparations for the Premier League returning.
Jurgen Klopp’s first team squad have jetted off to Dubai, with a number of young players involved.
Half a dozen Reds are still at the World Cup, with only Darwin Nunez eliminated thus far.
Liverpool’s website suggests he’ll join up with the rest of the squad later in the week.
Klopp has selected 33 players to head to the Middle East, giving some youngsters an opportunity to impress with the senior side.
The likes of Stefan Bajcetic and Bobby Clark have been included, having been on the periphery of the first team all season.
There’s also a boost for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diogo Jota and Arthur Melo.
Despite their injury woes this season, all three are part of the travelling party.
Klopp has also called up youngster Ben Doak as part of the first team training camp.
The Scottish teenager has been going from strength to strength this season.
His involvement in Dubai is the latest achievement for the 17-year-old since signing from Celtic.
Doak part of Liverpool training camp
Described by James Milner as having ‘absolutely incredible’ abilities, Doak is one of Liverpool most exciting youngsters.
Liverpool agreed a £600,000 fee with Celtic for Doak in March.
He arrived at the club in the summer, and immediately joined up with the under-18 squad.
His form at that level and in the UEFA Youth League, where he scored four goals and provided four assists in six games, certainly caught Liverpool fans’ attention.
The right-winger has made several appearances at under-21 level, but was handed a first team debut last month.
His cameo against Derby County in the Carabao Cup showed how much faith Jurgen Klopp has in him.
Doak was an unused substitute against Southampton in the Premier League just before the World Cup break.
After being included in Liverpool’s training camp in Dubai, Doak capping off the season with a league debut would be a phenomenal achievement.
