Jurgen Klopp hints at more opportunities for £7.25m Liverpool player

Jurgen Klopp has suggested that there could be more game time on the horizon for Liverpool fringe player Takumi Minamino ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup clash with Aston Villa.

The Japanese playmaker has found first-team football hard to come by during 2020/21, playing just 280 minutes in the Premier League.

Minamino has scored four goals during the campaign, however, and there have been signs that he is getting up to scratch.

Since arriving from Red Bull Salzburg he has found the English game tough.

It would seem, however, that Klopp is happy with his development, hinting at more game time during his pre-match press conference.

Liverpool are expected to make several changes for the game against the Villans tomorrow.

The Reds were thumped 7-2 at Villa Park earlier in the season but as their title defence stutters, Klopp must prioritise the Premier League.

Liverpool can ill-afford any fresh injury concerns and with that in mind, changes could be made tomorrow.

Minamino could certainly come in for a start and he will hope to make another impression on the team.

His best performance in a Liverpool shirt arguably came against Crystal Palace when he opened the scoring during a 7-0 win.

These comments from Klopp will surely delight the club’s supporters, with many feeling there is more to come.

He has shown during his cameo appearances this season that he is capable of getting up to the required standard to be a Premier League hit.

Signed for £7.25 million the man with 12 goals in 26 games for Japan is already looking like value for money.

Minamino earns £75,000-a-week at Anfield and supporters have been patient with him thus far.

As the games come thick and fast more opportunities should present themselves.

If Minamino can add a few more goals and assists to his name then the future could be bright.
