Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has branded Tottenham a “world-class” team ahead of the meeting between the two teams at the weekend.
Spurs travel to Anfield on Sunday for a vital Premier League game, which will mean a great deal for both teams.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team sit third in the table, but now have a real fight to remain in the top four and are only three points above fifth-placed Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Liverpool sit top of the pile ahead of Manchester City having played a game more and the title race could go down to the wire.
Klopp is preparing his side for one of their toughest fixtures remaining and has heaped the praise onto Spurs.
“We expect the strongest Tottenham you can expect. They will be a strong side, a world-class team will be here. We saw Tottenham playing [in the Champions League], it’s a very, very good football team. Unfortunately very good,” Klopp said in his pre-match press conference, as cited by the club’s official Youtube account.
Spurs are arguably the biggest obstacle left in Liverpool’s remaining league fixtures, but they do have Chelsea at home still to come.
There is no doubt that Spurs have the quality within their group to be a world-class outfit on their day and they have some superstars that could steal the show at Anfield.
The North London club could finish third in the table still with a great points tally and are also facing Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
They just need to try get over the line when it comes to silverware and it would be a real marker beating the table toppers in their own ground.
