Jurgen Klopp deluded to expect upturn in form from Liverpool's Dominic Solanke
Dominic Solanke looks set to be a wanted man in January with a host of clubs chasing his signature on loan given that he has failed to make an appearance for Liverpool this season.
The 21-year-old made 27 appearances last season but has slipped behind both Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi this season, with Xherdan Shaqiri also adding more flexibility in attack.
A loan exit looks inevitable but the Liverpool Echo claim that Jurgen Klopp is keen to delay any decision on the centre forward and will hope to see more from the striker to convince the coach that he has a role to play.
However, given that he has played just two games for the under 23s this season and has made the bench for the Reds’ first team just once, it seems unlikely that he would be able to do enough to take advantage of the opportunity.
With so many options in his front line, Klopp would be better served getting Solanke out on loan as soon as possible in order to maximise his game time and prove a point elsewhere where first team football is realistic.
