Junior Firpo has tweeted that he can’t wait to get started for good at Leeds United, after his first week few training sessions for the club.
First new arrival
Firpo became Leeds’ first signing of the summer earlier this month when he joined from Barcelona.
The left-back has now been in training with Marcelo Bielsa’s side for some time in preparation for the new campaign.
And the Leeds man has suggested that he is excited for the Premier League season to get underway.
Getting started
Leeds actually haven’t even played their first pre-season match yet, so no Whites fan have been able to see Firpo in action first-hand.
The new recruit could play for Leeds for the first time on July 27th, when they take on Guiseley though.
Firpo is expected to walk straight into Leeds first-team this season, despite Marcelo Bielsa’s general reluctance throw new signings straight in.
With Gjanni Alioski departing there is a gap at left-back for Leeds, and Firpo was clearly sought after as an upgrade.
The rapid full-back is renowned as having great attacking quality, and his arrival could make the Whites an even bigger threat on the counter attack next season.
