Junior Firpo reacts to Jack Harrison display in Leeds win
Junior Firpo has lauded Jack Harrison with a three-word reply to the winger’s post on Instagram after Leeds United beat Crewe in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are through to the third round of the competition after a 3-0 victory at Elland Road. It was actually their first win in a cup game since Gaetano Berardi helped them beat Salford by the same scoreline in 2019.
They were made to work hard against the League One side. Kalvin Phillips broke the deadlock with 11 minutes remaining.
And Harrison made the tie safe with a five minute brace. His first finish was a delicious dink over the goalkeeper, before he completed the scoring with a thunderous drive into the corner.
Of course, Leeds fans will not be getting carried away after a win against Crewe. They will feel a lot better about their campaign once they have their first league win under their belt.
But it does appear that Harrison has, once again, taken his game to another level.
He was lauded by many after his display against Everton at the weekend. The 24-year-old produced some outrageous moments of quality against the Toffees.
And his brace on Tuesday provided a further reminder of what the former Manchester City man is capable of.
His display certainly appears to have impressed the man playing alongside him down the left flank.
Harrison took to Instagram following the win. And amongst those to reply was Junior…
Junior Firpo and Jack Harrison showing signs of building impressive partnership on Leeds’ left flank
Leeds already boast one superb partnership down their right flank. Luke Ayling and Raphinha appear to have a brilliant understanding.
And the very early signs suggest that Junior and Harrison could be on their way to building something similar on the left.
Junior has shown glimpses of his quality so far. Meanwhile, Leeds fans know all too well how good Harrison can be.
So it could be huge for Leeds if the pair can kick on and develop a really strong relationship.
