Junior Firpo reacts on Instagram to Jack Harrison display in Leeds draw
Junior Firpo may have only made one appearance for Leeds United following his summer move to Elland Road but it would appear that Jack Harrison has already managed to make a big impression on the defender.
Junior and Harrison lined up together down Leeds’s left flank as they faced Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Wednesday.
It proved to be a mixed first pre-season fixture for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. They drew 1-1 with Rovers, with Pascal Struijk equalising late on.
But Leeds played some lovely football at times. And perhaps no player was more impressive when in possession than Harrison.
The winger was actually making his first appearance as a permanent Leeds player following his £11 million switch from Manchester City.
But he already looks to be raring to go. And Leeds paid tribute to his performance on Instagram.
The club posted a number of clips of the 24-year-old from the game, many of which included Harrison producing an outrageous moment of skill…
And it appears that he has already impressed his new teammate.
Junior, of course, has experience of playing alongside players such as Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele.
But it would seem that he is looking forward to playing with Harrison a lot more this season, judging by his response to the video…
Junior Firpo and Jack Harrison could form devastating partnership
What will encourage Bielsa is those moments when Leeds’s play just seemed to click.
Junior and Harrison were responsible for a few of those glimpses in the draw.
The Spaniard was rusty at times. But some of his bursts forward have whetted the appetite for what is to come over the next few months.
And that partnership with Harrison appears to have the potential to blossom into something seriously impressive.
