Julio Enciso suggests £67m Liverpool player is actually better than Clarence Seedorf

Comparing footballing legends with their present day counter-parts is never easy.

Is Virgil van Dijk better than Paolo Maldini? Is Kylian Mbappe better than Thierry Henry? Is Lionel Messi better than Diego Maradona? These are all comparisons that have been discussed time and time again.

However, one comparison that has probably never been made before is between Clarence Seedorf and Alisson Becker – until now that is.

Indeed, taking part in a challenge on his TikTok page, Julio Enciso has been ranking some of the best footballers in history, and, interestingly, he ranked Alisson Becker ahead of Clarence Seedorf in his top 10 list.

The Brighton forward took part in a TikTok challenge and he rated Alisson quite highly.

He put the Liverpool goalkeeper ahead of the likes of Heung-Min Son and Seedorf, while the only players who were ranked above Alisson were Pele, Romario and Carles Puyol.

Now, this is a really strange debate that is almost impossible to settle.

Comparing a goalkeeper with an outfield player is never easy, especially when you’re talking about two all-time greats.

Seedorf does have the greater CV between these two. He’s a multi-time Champions League winner with three different clubs, while the £67m goalkeeper has only tasted major success with Liverpool on a few occasions.

However, with that being said, Alisson does have a case to make for being the best goalkeeper of all-time, while Seedorf doesn’t quite fit into that conversation in the midfield, albeit, the competition is much fiercer.

Regardless of who you think is better or who has the greater legacy, it has to be said that both Alisson and Clarence Seedorf are two of world football’s greats, and they will be remembered for years to come as legends of the game.
