Reports this week are suggesting Rangers could lose Josh Windass this summer. The Daily Mail explains that the Glasgow club wants £3 million for the player and the likes of West Ham, Burnley, West Brom and Aston Villa are all keen on his signature.
Windass is said to be concerned he is not in Steven Gerrard’s plans for the upcoming season and is, therefore, seeking an exit.
It is certainly odd to hear considering his record for the club last season. Windass scored 18 goals and provided eight assists for Rangers last season in 41 games. Such form perhaps made him one of the club’s better performers.

However, plenty of Rangers fans would not be disappointed to see him leave Ibrox. He is something of a ‘Marmite player’ among fans who have not warmed to the former Accrington Stanley player.
But Rangers have to consider another former player they let go before settling at £3 million.
Martyn Waghorn left Ibrox for Ipswich last summer. Rangers received £250,000 for the player. Like Windass, his stats were excellent in Glasgow but he divided opinion. After injury trouble and accusations of being a flat-track bully, Waghorn was not mourned greatly upon his Rangers exit.
Last season he thrived for Ipswich and is now the centre of a transfer battle this summer. The latest reports suggest he is valued at between £8 million and £10 million.
So sure, Rangers should sell Windass if he is not in their plans. But £3 million? There is an argument to say the Glasgow club could ask for much more.
