Jude Bellingham sends message to James Maddison on Instagram after what he did last night

Tottenham Hotspur star James Maddison impressed everyone after he set up Jude Bellingham to score in the last minute of England’s game against Belgium on Tuesday night.

The Three Lions were hoping to bounce back after their disappointing defeat to Brazil last Saturday.

Gareth Southgate named Declan Rice as the England captain, and he led his side out with the hope of beating Belgium at Wembley.

Things didn’t quite go to plan for Southgate’s side, but thanks to Maddison and Bellingham, they didn’t come out of the game as the losers.

Jude Bellingham sends message to Tottenham star James Maddison

Gareth Southgate made quite a few changes to his England side against Belgium on Tuesday night, but Tottenham star James Maddison still didn’t get a start.

The Englishman has had a very good season at Spurs. He has been one of the best signings of last summer, and he would’ve been hoping to get the nod.

Southgate decided against it last night, but Maddison had a massive impact when he came off the bench as a substitute in the second half.

England were 2-1 down at that point and looked set to end up on the losing side for the second game in this international break.

However, Maddison stepped up and assisted Jude Bellingham‘s last-minute goal to level the game.

The Tottenham midfielder took to Instagram to celebrate his contribution, and Bellingham showed his appreciation.

“What a f—–g player,” he wrote in the replies.

Anthony Gordon and Jordan Henderson both replied with emojis.

How Gareth Southgate can start James Maddison for England

England have a number of players they can use in attacking midfield, and that’s the reason why James Maddison hasn’t been a regular, despite his tremendous form at Tottenham.

However, Gareth Southgate can still accommodate the Spurs star.

Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham are guaranteed starters for England in the middle of the park, but there is still one more place up for grabs.

We think the ‘brilliant‘ Maddison is more than capable of slotting in as a number eight. England could even use two attacking midfielders with Rice behind them – the Tottenham star would be perfect in that role too alongside Bellingham.

Playing Maddison from the start is definitely possible, but whether Southgate will even consider that option at the Euros remains to be seen.
