Is Juan Mata heading to Anfield?
A ambitious rumour has been circulating social networks sites this deadline day which is making some Liverpool fans very excited.
Juan Mata, who has falling out of favour at Chelsea under new manager José Mourinho, is being linked with the premier league leaders and some people are even reporting that Liverpool have had a £25 million bid turned down. The rumour has even hit some radio stations in Spain.
In my opinion I think LFC have no chance in signing Mata this late into deadline because I believe if there was any truth in the rumour Sky Sports would have already reported that they were interested.
The question is would a move to Liverpool benefit Juan Mata’s career because of course he is going to want first team football as it is a World Cup year. I think the answer is yes if he is not going to get first team football under Mourinho there is absolutely no point in him sitting on the bench. He would also benefit Brendan Rodgers team in many different ways. He is a player who can create a chance out of the blue and with Gerrard now taking a more defensive role in the team he could be just what The Reds need.
At the moment this is just a rumour but just imagine a midfield of Gerrard, Lucas and Mata it would possibly be one of the best midfields in the Premier League if not Europe.
