Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth has reportedly suffered a serious knee injury and looks unlikely to play again for Tottenham this season.
The Argentine has been out of the picture since the arrival of Jose Mourinho in North London and has been heavily linked with a move away from Spurs this summer. Therefore, this injury may mean he will never play another game for Spurs.
It is reported by TNT Sports in Foyth’s homeland of Argentina that the defender has suffered a meniscus injury. They claim that Argentina’s national coach and team doctor Lionel Scaloni and Daniel Martinez have been in touch with him and the injury may require surgery.
Iam Noticias claims he picked up the injury in the recent friendly match with Norwich City and received the diagnosis yesterday. He is expected to miss at least a month of action, suggesting his time at Tottenham may be up.

Indeed, Foyth has confirmed he may need to leave Tottenham this summer, after falling out of favour with Pochettino’s successor Jose Mourinho. The 22-year-old told TNT in April that the ‘best thing’ for his career might be a Spurs departure, having not featured for the club since December.
The reports regarding his injury also touched on Foyth’s uncertain Tottenham future, commenting on Leeds United’s apparent hope of signing him for a Premier League campaign next season.
However, TNT Sports reported last week that no such proposal has yet been put forward.
What remains clear is that Foyth now has a period of recovery on his hands before he can even consider his next career move.
But with Mourinho clearly not a fan, Tottenham fans may have seen the last of their Argentine talent.
