Robbie Savage has rated Leeds United’s season so far a four out of five following their return to the Premier League.
The Yorkshire club have arguably been the division’s best entertainers this campaign and they’ve continued to play the same kind of expansive style that helped them achieve promotion from the Championship last year.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are sat 14th in the league table after the opening 14 league games, with a comfortable seven-point cushion above the relegation spots.
The Whites have shown real firepower going forward with 24 goals in the league so far, in particular Patrick Bamford is catching the eye for them, but there are problems at the back.
Leeds have conceded more goals than any team in the Premier League this season (30).
Savage has given a glowing verdict on how Bielsa’s side have fared in the top-flight, albeit mentioning defensive problems they need to fix.
“Win or lose, they have been a joy to watch and Marcelo Bielsa’s approach has been a breath of fresh air. Even at 6-1 down at Old Trafford, they were going for it and the lack of fear factor in their play is fantastic. But they have been a bit too naive and conceded more goals than anybody so far,” Savage told the Mirror.

TBR’s View:
If Leeds continue playing in the same way, surely over the course of the entire season they’ll pick up enough wins to stay in the division and they’ve got the qualities on their day to give any side a tough game.
There doesn’t seem a chance that Bielsa is going to move away from his philosophy, so it’s just about fine-tuning things defensively.
It’s obvious that they need to put plenty of work on the training into defending set-pieces, but it must be noted they’ve had real injury problems at centre-back that has not helped them.
